Masdar's Pavilion Shines at WFES 2024

Abu Dhabi's Masdar, a clean energy powerhouse, gears up for the WFES. Highlights include Green Hydrogen Summit and innovation hub showcasing AI's role in climate action. Aims for 100GW renewable capacity by 2030.

Masdar, the UAE’s forefront clean energy company, is set to host the World Future Energy Summit from April 16-18 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre. As a global business event for future energy, clean technology, and sustainability, WFES promises agenda of discussions, forums, and activations.

The Masdar Pavilion at WFES will serve as a focal point for innovation, collaboration, and knowledge exchange. With an engaging program featuring panels and presentations, including forums led by Masdar’s global initiatives such as Y4S (Youth 4 Sustainability) and WiSER (Women in Sustainability, Environment, and Renewable Energy), the pavilion aims to favour dialogue and action towards sustainable practices.

A highlight of the event will be the Innovation Zone, hosted by Masdar, which will spotlight industry panels with innovators and experts focusing on the latest climate solutions. Technology showcases from partners of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, international startups, and SMEs across various sectors including urban mobility, clean energy, agritech, and artificial intelligence will also be featured. The SME Day at WFES, scheduled for April 18, will be launched officially within this zone to continue the legacy of the COP28 SME Climate Hub initiative.

HE Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Chairman of Masdar, and President of COP28, emphasised the importance of turning climate agreements into action. He urged the energy industry to invest in AI to harness its climate potential, underscoring WFES as a platform for stakeholders to unlock investments needed for the energy transition.

Furthermore, Masdar will host the annual Green Hydrogen Summit on April 16, aimed at raising the development of the global green hydrogen economy to support the energy transition. The summit will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, investors, and entrepreneurs to discuss green hydrogen's potential in achieving net-zero emissions.

Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi, CEO of Masdar, expressed anticipation for WFES, emphasising Masdar's commitment to addressing climate challenges and advancing clean energy. He highlighted Masdar's goals, including aiming for a renewable energy portfolio capacity of 100GW by 2030 and becoming a leading producer of green hydrogen by the same year, in alignment with The UAE Consensus set at COP28.
