On the spot

The breakout workshop sessions are still going on. We have been doing on the spot questions with attendees all afternoon. Subash Thakkar, Managing Director, Scan Technology, Dubai, discussed with us his opinions on the economic landscape of the region. We asked him what his thoughts were on the trends of business activity in the region:

“There is a quiet optimism. For the past two-three months businesses are slowly beginning to spend again, but it is being kept under wraps. Its almost a quiet optimism and no one wants to talk about it in case there is double dip. But I can see a definite increase in demand to start spending again. In comparison to the US and western Europe the mood here is generally one of hope and optimism- it feels like the worst is over us.”
