Leading industry players from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region will showcase the the second edition of ALUMINIUM Dubai to be held from 9th – 11th May. The region’s leading aluminium trade show will see participation from more than 150 exhibitors at Sheikh Saeed Halls 2 and 3 of the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

“The 2011 edition of ALUMINIUM Dubai meets the needs of local and regional industrial companies through the presentation of the latest technologies that takes into account the industrial needs, especially in the mining sector and related applications, as the aluminium industry has recently witnessed significant technical developments some of which are displayed in the exhibition,” said Tarek Ali, Show Manager, ALUMINIUM Dubai, Reed Exhibitions.

The show will involve participation from leading names in the aluminium extrusion segment who are engaged in production for various industrial applications across construction, automotive, engineering, packaging and other industries.

“Flexibility, durability and diverse features of aluminium have made it an important component in cables, renewable energy, electro engineering, mechanical, aviation, automotive, interior design and many more sectors, thereby resulting in a significant increase in its demand, as a study conducted by Ventures Middle East indicates that the construction sector constitutes only 26% of the world consumption of aluminium, while the other uses of aluminium in various sectors like energy, transportation, packaging and others constitute about 74%; sectors which were negatively affected to a lesser degree compared with the construction sector during the global financial crisis.

“ALUMINIUM Dubai is an ideal platform that brings together players associated with different segments of the value chain and gives them an opportunity to interact and work towards further industrial advancements,” added Ali.

Industry experts and leaders will share their insights and present technological at the ‘Innovation Podium Programme’ during the show. Industry players will also get opportunities to highlight emerging demands and ways to ensure strong industrial growth.

According to estimates, investments in the aluminium industry in the Gulf are expected to grow to USD 55 billion by 2020 with smelter expansions taking place and a host of new projects on the anvil. The region’s stronghold in this industry is attracting heavy foreign investment and generating high interest from industry players worldwide.
