The Dubai Health Authority announced the launch of the fourteenth UAE International Dental Conference & Arab Dental Exhibition (AEEDC Dubai 2010) which will be held from the 9 – 11 of March 2010 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. AEEDC Dubai is held under the patronage of H.H Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and President of Dubai Health Authority.
Index Conferences and Exhibitions Organization Est. member of Index Holding is organizing this event in cooperation with Dubai Health Authority. Preparations are in full swing, as Dubai gets ready for this prestigious annual gathering of Oral Health professionals, with attendees from the entire Middle East region and North Africa. In addition, the Dubai World Dental Meeting (DWDM) will commence from the 6th until the 8th of March at the Novotel Hotel adjacent to the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
H.E Qhadi Saeed Al Murooshid, Director General – Dubai Health Authority said that the DHA will always support all the medical conferences and events held in the UAE. H.E also said that “Medical conferences and exhibitions reflect good revenue in all sectors of the country, including economy, trade, tourism and other sectors, which motivates the economy and development to move forward, and develop the skills and capabilities in both sectors.”

H.E. also mentioned that AEEDC Dubai is one of the world most prestigious events in terms of the number of participants at the conference and the exhibition. He also assured that this high turnout enhances the status of Dubai as a regional hub for all international oral health companies looking to market and promote their products in the region through Dubai.
He noted that the number of doctors participating in the conference and visitors had steadily increased, as 2010 is expected to reach more than 20.000 visitors, which confirms the universal status Dubai enjoys not only in the economic and trade levels, but also in the conferences and exhibitions industry through this outstanding conference, which is the fifth of its kind in the world.
H.E also added that Dubai Health Authority support more than 12 medical conferences and exhibitions organized annually by Index, featuring a variety of dental specialties, in addition to a number of specialised conferences, seminars and workshops dedicated to raising doctor’s efficiency and introducing them to the latest technologies utilized in the medical field.
He also said “Dubai Health Authority has developed a very qualified program to foster modern innovations and medical technologies and endorse them in hospitals, clinics, and medical centres. We are looking forward to translate the vision of H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and H.H Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and President of Dubai Health Authority, in making Dubai a therapeutic reference for all medical researchers who seek advanced therapy”.
Dr. Tariq Khoory, the Director of the Dental Department at the Dubai Health Authority stated that “AEEDC Dubai 2010 is to introduce a number of new specialties in dentistry in addition to a lot of new scientific activities included within the program.
“We are focusing on having diversity of topics during the conference this year, as we are trying to create new dimensions in the dental field in the UAE and the region”.
Dr. Tariq continued, “We are now preparing for AEEDC’s fourteenth edition, and we are hosting new specialised conferences that will be held in conjunction with AEEDC Dubai conference, mainly the First AEEDC International Orthodontic Meeting and the GCC Preventive Dentistry Conference”.
He also mentioned that the Dubai Health Authority always supports all vital medical events, and encourages all dentists to take part in this outstanding event, and he continued “Dubai Health Authority gives full support to AEEDC Dubai as we work hard to emphasize the healthcare sector in Dubai on both regional and International levels, and AEEDC Dubai is the perfect venue to realize this approach, especially that the participants number is accelerating every year”.
Dr. Nasser Malik, the Conference Chairman said that “This year, we have brought the radiography to the scientific program, this subject has been a controversial one for all dentists, and this year we are hosting the world’s key specialists to talk intensively about it. The courses will raise the dentists’ efficiency and will display the latest technology used in the medical field.”

AEEDC Dubai covers different scientific and educational activities to add more challenge and competitiveness of participating students through the competition AEEDC dental students and the AEEDC award for young students’ research. The competition aims at creating competition among leading dental students in the Arab world to take advantage of such valuable information. The competition was introduced during AEEDC last year among dental students, and this year the number of Arab universities participating has reached 10 compared to 3 universities last year. Countries participating are from UAE, Egypt, Iran, and others.
AEEDC Dubai is the largest dental conference and exhibition in the Middle East and North Africa and the Asian sub-continent, and it includes variety of specialties within the dental field. The conference features the scientific, business, tourism and social dimensions throughout a variety of activities scheduled during AEEDC. The organizers are expecting more than 20.000 visitors this year.
