His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Airport Freezone, unveiled the organisation’s new brand which signals a fresh phase of growth and expansion for the company and the world-class facilities and services that it offers to worldwide organisations.
Celebrating the launch of Dubai Airport Freezone’s new brand, His Highness said: “Dubai Airport Freezone has a vital and strategic role to play in delivering qualitative, value-added investments to the Emirate, and attracting large, international companies that support our free economic direction. This freezone is one of the cornerstones of our nation’s economic strategy and contributes towards its ambitious goals.”
His Highness underlined the outstanding achievements and positive results realised by the Freezone in its 13 years of operation, including record growth and profits during the first quarter of 2009.
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed urged all staff in the freezone to continue facilitating processes and procedures for foreign investors and thus assist them to reach their commercial goals and realise their economic aspirations. In addition, there was praise for the organisation in its efforts to attract diverse employees and develop its scientific and practical skills through special training programmes.
Commenting on the positive first quarter financial results, which showed revenue and profits both increasing year-on-year, Dr Mohammed Al Zarouni, Director General of Dubai Airport Freezone, said: “The contributions of Dubai Airport Freezone to the economy are evident in the outstanding growth rates achieved, which outperformed 2008 results and achieved growth in the first quarter in the face of ongoing economic challenges around the world.
“The high quality services and state-of-the-art facilities the freezone offers to its clients showcase the distinctive incentive that attracts a broad range of investors and, in turn, has led to an increase in the number of companies choosing to set up their regional operations here,” added Dr Al Zarouni. “The modern infrastructure is designed to meet client needs, and in addition to that we offer an encouraging investment climate and a hassle-free administrative approach that has proven to be successful amongst international investors looking to set up here.”
The new Dubai Airport Freezone brand represents an evolution for the organisation, with new goals set to provide the best investment opportunities for current and prospective tenants. A project to expand the capacity of the Freezone in 2009 is underway as scheduled, including a development that will increase the number of offices in the Eastern Wing and also offer a new business centre, hotel and other key operational facilities. The project will add to the existing infrastructure and offer further incentives to attract international companies to the freezone.
