As the summer slowdown sets in for UAE businesses, biz-ability, says the season is one of the most effective times in which to invest in staff training.

Following increased customer demand for abridged summer training services, biz-ability this week launched Light on Learning,  a series of intensive business training modules designed to refresh employees’ management and communication skills.

“With a slowdown in business, employees have more time to think and are better able to pick up new skills. Equipping your staff with fresh skills is a great way to gain competitive advantage going into the busier months,” said Hazel Jackson, CEO of  biz-group, the holding company of biz-ability.

Light on Learning offers a choice of 12 training modules, suitable for employees, supervisors, middle and senior managers. The sessions range from improving internal and external communication, to strategy setting and how to achieve better performance from both individuals and teams.

Each session is conducted in two or four hour workshops and although intensive, biz-ability says the focus on one particular skill set coupled with practical work-based assignments improves knowledge retention and applicability for its clients.

“We have taken a look at our leadership development programmes and extracted some of the core modules that have proven to positively impact businesses relatively quickly. These have been restructured into intense, hands-on sessions so as not to impact the entire working day. Through post training exercises we are able to deliver the biz-ability promise of measurable results,” said Jackson.

While the seasonal slowdown can present a challenge for business owners and managers, the biz-ability Light on Learning modules offer a cost-effective and powerful solution for enhancing organisational performance.

“If business is sluggish, chances are your people will be too. Training builds enthusiasm, re-energising your team with skills that will help shake off the lull of summer before your competitors do. Training doesn’t only improve your people. With employees empowered to think more, they are likely to identify new solutions for upgrading internal processes too,” added Jackson.
